How to: Create an outline manually.
Solution:
Select the rows and columns to outline. Select the 'Data' menu and select 'Group...' from the 'Group and Outline' submenu. Select the 'Rows' or 'Columns' radio button if the entire row or column was not selected.
1) Select the rows and columns that are to be grouped together in the outline.
2) Select the 'Data' menu and select 'Group and Outline'.
3) Select 'Group...' from the submenu.
NOTE: If the entire row or column was not selected, Microsoft Excel displays a dialog box inquiring whether to group rows or columns.
4) Select either the 'Rows' or the 'Columns' radio button.
5) Click 'OK'.
NOTE: The outline and outline symbols are displayed on the screen.
